Off with the old, On with the new

My book is finished at last and sent off to my publishers. Hoorah!

Now I am thinking about an idea for the next one. Characters are crowding into my consciousness.

They are all clamouring to tell me their story. Most of the stuff seems to be about family secrets. My head is buzzing!

It is all so chaotic. How will I sort it all out into a coherent whole?

I don’t know. It just happens - eventually - after a lot of hard work.

Anyway, I’ve got a year to whip the whole thing into shape.

Here I go again!!!

Well done. Congratulations. Why not have a short weekend break or something and characters and plots will fall into place. I just had a cheque from America for an article today so I'm in a goooood mood.

  Now I have finished my last project I feel at a loose end without something to write. Still, it gives me time to get to know my new characters.

You must feel great. Tell the characters in your head to form an orderly queue while you put your feet up and have a well deserved break

Well done! You must be ecstatic. Well put your feet up, grab a nice cup of tea and relax. As your characters fall into place, a well rested mind should help fit them in the right positon. Good luck on your next one. Would you visit my blog?
