I had a wonderful day out at Strady Water Park, Llanelli yesterday. The scenery was terrific and the day itself was beautiful - a real gift of a day.

We took a big bag of bread with us but it still wasn't enough. How those birds scrambled and fought for the crumbs.
The swans grabbed what they could but always kept their dignity and refused to get into any skermishes. Even when my dog, Monty barked at them the smaller birds flurried off (always returning) but the swans remained aloof.
They are big birds and they don't frighten easily. When they come out of the water they are a bit scary!

I remember my dog barking at a Swan and it reared up with its wings spread out. My brave dog run away and I backed off as rapidly as seemed safe.

I don't think my dog would have the sense to run away. He's always determined to 'sort out' fireworks or a thunder storm.

Yes it was a day full of joy. I made up my mind to appreciate every minute, every second of it. The beauty of the place is unbelievable. I don't know if I'll get the opportunity to return there this year, but I do hope so.

I love the pics and I love the ducks. In my apartment in Oklahoma city. I lived on a pond and all the little ducks and geese use to come to my patio door and knock with thier beaks for me come out and feed them which I did. And if I ignored thier knocks the geese would stand outthere and honk until I feed all of them. Such good memories. Such good times

That seems an ideal place to live right in amongst the wild life. I envy the people living arround the Water Park at Llanelli. What a vista they always have.
The astonishing thing is this very area was once the site of the Llanelli Steelworks.
