This isn't a sulk. It's an observation.
Proving identity is probably a good idea, particularly the way society is today. But it looks as though cost will be prohibitive (iris scans and fingerprints) which will make it unpopular and therefore unworkable. But it's everyone or no one.
I've had a thought - well, it does happen on occasion. What about a subcutaneous identity chip. It has worked well for cats and dogs for years at low cost.
A subcutaneous identity chip can never be lost, stolen, or copied. It's always with you.
Future technology (if it doesn't already exist) could track any individual; establish the whereabouts of anyone at any given time. Think what that would do for crime clear up figures.
Imagine, as you board a plane or a train, your chip could be scanned automatically. Shopping malls, supermarkets, pubs, clubs, theatres, football grounds, the list is endless.
Is a chill running down your spine? Big Brother is watching? It's a two-edged sword, isn't it?
